Baby blue zig zag

Today I've done a skittlette of the gorgeous Zoya Blu, a zig zag and Essie Beyond Cosy. This zigzag is done with the decals. I love the overall look of this one, something so soothing and pretty about Zoya Blue.Yes it's another mani with Essie Beyond Cosy, it was all that was holding my nail together for awhile. Unfortunately it's broken now, so I have super nubs. Luckily for me they grow quickly but I'm already missing painting my nails. Oh well, very much a first world problem.

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013

Celebrating the Year of the Blogger

Welcome to piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013!!

Theme:  ‘Year of the Blogger’

I am so excited to have been chosen to show you three gorgeous piCture pOlish colours. I was lucky to be sent 3 colours that are so 'me', the gorgeous sky, which is a gorgeous rich baby blue creme, peaches n' cream which is the most gorgeous pastel peach creme polish I've come across and white wedding that is a white rainbow, a shimmer but a shimmer of rainbows. This year the girls at piCture pOlish asked us to do our ‘amazing nail art manicure ever’ with the three colours we were given. I of course had to do a skittle :) I chose stripes for my ring, roses for my middle, a chevron or zig zag for my ring and dots for my pinkie and thumb.

piCture pOlish are running competitions for all nail art creations, the winners will be lucky enough to collaborate with piCture pOlish on making a new shade.

There are three awards that will be voted and chosen as follows via piCture pOlish's special Pinterest Blog Fest 2013 board:
1 award - will be voted by PP friends and fans
1  award - will be voted by all participants of Blog Fest 2013
1  award - will be chosen by Jules and Meg of piCture pOlish

Voting will take place on pinterest boards belonging to piCture pOlish so please take the time out to vote for me when the board is up :)

Now onto my design
Below are detailed instructions on how to create the look yourself.

How to achieve this look

Paint your nails the base colour, top coat and allow time to dry.

You can also cut tape (either painters tape or washi tape are great for nail art), with a pair of zig zag craft scissors instead of the pre-cut decals.

piCture pOlish have provided these polishes to me to use, to grab some for yourself go to piCture pOlish On-line Store.

AN Monday - Leopard theme

This is only my second attempt at Leopard spots and I think I may have done better the first time :). I'm not a huge animal print fan but this is a great nail art that is supposedly easy and adds a great pop to your nails. Since I was already doing an animal print I thought I'd go with pink as well. I'm so not a pink girl but this particular shade by Zoya named Reagan even I don't find too bad. Enjoy looking at the Leopard nails by following the links below.

Have a happy Monday, Tx.

Rainbow HOney - Mint Flavour - glitter gradient

This is one of the new colours from Rainbow Honey and it's just gorgeous. Yes it's another mint green and is called Mint flavour. This mint green has a lot of blue in it and the brightness makes it such a fun shade. Mint Flavour is also a gorgeous shimmer that sparkles and shines in the light. I just love it!! Below I added a glitter gradient in China Glaze I'm Not Lion and Love Thy Polish Gold Dust Woman.  I can't wait to try the other colours in this collection.

Happy Sunday, Tx

piCture pOlish - Honeydew - skittlette

You know I love mint green and I really love this mint green creme polish from piCture pOlish. I have so many mint green polishes but as I tell Hubby they're similar but different :). I really wanted to do a skittlette with a pastel colour, black roses and dots since I saw this one by glamsusie on Instagram. She was clever enough to hand paint her roses but I stamped mine. I also really wanted to add a matte top coat but my middle finger nail has suffered a break and all that is holding it together is the teabag and glue method and a good coverage of glitter polish. I just didn't think a shiny glitter and matte pastel would go together so I will redo this look when my break grows out. It also means at any time now I'm going to be reduced to super nubs, the break is below the free tip so will take awhile to grow out :(. Anyway I'll try to embrace the nubs and stamp those designs that are usually too small for my nails.

I do still love this look, the stamping plate was a Bundle Monster one but I can't remember the number and the glitter is again the gorgeous Essie - Beyond Cosy - one of my go to glitters.

Well it's finally Saturday - enjoy your weekend, Tx.

Neon Love

I've finally added neons to my stash and I'm in love! This is China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy and it's amazing. Unfortunately it's under artificial light so hasn't photographed to show it's super brightness. I love it as a skittlette, not sure if my eyes could take a full mani but it's super nice to have a bright pop of colour in the middle of winter. I'm looking forward to adding more neons to my collection :).

The glitter is Essie - Beyond Cosy

Yay for Fridays!, Tx

a England - Tess D'Urbervilles

Tess D'Urbervilles is from the a England gothic beauties collection. All the polishes in this collection are dark and mysterious and in Tess D'Urberville it really works. The green is a real green, not leading to teal or blue but a gorgeous forest green. It is the perfect winter colour and the green shimmers in the light. It had perfect application and I love the blackened green look.

We're past hump day - hope your week is going well, Tx

Dotticure

I do love polka dots!! I also really like this gorgeous peaches n' cream colour by Picture Polish. The perfect match for me was black, white and silver and I love how it all came together. Dots are really one of the simplest nail arts and there offer so many options. A dotting tool is a must have and you can usually pick up a set very cheaply on ebay. The silver which is Trixie by Zoya really adds a nice pop to the look.

Sorry I've missed a day and am not very verbose, I have a migraine that just won't go away. It gets a little better and allows me out of bed, then slams me down again. I am super excited about the royal baby and hope to do a royal baby mani soon :)

Have a fabulous Wednesday, Tx

AN Monday - Magical theme - Hedwig

Alanna Renee has my favourite collection ever, the Magical World collection. I've shared a few here already, this one is one my favourites. The collection is based on Harry Potter, and that could've been a big risk, especially for die hards fans like me. Alanna Renee however captured the very essence of the name of each polish in its formula. This one is named Hedwig, could you have ever pictured a more apt depiction of Hedwig in a polish? It is simply perfect, fits Hedwig perfectly and is so easy to apply. When the Magical theme come up I just knew I had to try my hand at Hedwig. I love Hedwig and was devastated with his ending. He was just the perfect first companion for Harry and really his very first friend. So he looked a bit better in my head but I still adore this whole look. Just perfectly - Harry Potter!

I don't know how Mondays roll around again so quickly :(, let's hope the weekend comes just as quick. Have a fabulous week, Tx.

Playing with Striping Tape

Striping tape is a contradiction, it is one of the best tools for nail art but also one of the tools that is the biggest pain to use! You need to go into any nail art involving striping tape with a lot of patience and a good set of tweezers. I apply tape with my fingers but you can also use tweezers. The important thing is to make sure you have really stuck it well to the nail with no ridges or bumps for polish to seep through. I then paint my colour and count to 10 before pulling the tape off with tweezers. For this look I used a base of Zoya Richelle, I top coated and let dry. I then applied my tape and a coat of OPI - Jade is the new Black. I love the final look but did swear at the striping tape a couple of times ;).

Enjoy your Sunday, Tx

butter London - Poole flowers

Today I have a simple but cute nail art. The green is butter London Poole and white is Nubar White tip. Flowers are easily made with a dotting tool and I added Zoya Trixie for a silver pop. It is really easy to do and it looks great!

Original idea seen on Instagram @sparkleandpolish

Have a great Saturday! Tx

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Nightsong Grotto

This polish by Femme Fatale Cosmetics is stunning! It just has so much depth with the perfect mix of blues and greens in a teal base. Then there is a little pop of colour with teeny pieces of fuchsia glitter. It applied easily using the dabbing method and was one of those polishes that everytime you looked at it you saw something new. I just love the mix of large and small glitter and shapes.

Yay it's Friday this week has gone super quick, Have a great day, T

Loki's Lacquer - Whitewalkers - glow in the dark

I love this polish so much!! It makes me feel like a little girl all over again.Glow in the dark polish - just how cool is that? I didn't get very good photos to show the glow properly but this polish is amazing. Just from normal night time light my nails glow a little in the dark but when placed under direct light the glow is just amazing!! The polish is cute and super easy to apply. It has the tiny blue glitter are little iridescent flecks and bars. This polish is the best glow polish I've seen and honestly there is a little girl in all of us that can't help playing with it :). The heart decals were made with nail polish painted on baking paper left to dry and then I used a hole punch to get the love heart shape.
