Geometric

I loved how this taped mani turned out and it was really easy to do! I used Cirque Never Nude as a base colour. I taped off sections and used Zoya Diva, Zoya Mitra and Sally Hansen Lava to create the look. Lava deserves a post all of it's own as it is just gorgeous and goes from gold through orange to a orangey pink. I love it!

Spring flowers

This was fun to do and not that hard as it's just with a dotting tool. The base colour is Essie Bobbing for Baubles and I am in love! It doesn't show well in these photos but it is a divine deep navy, the easiest Essie polish I have ever applied. I could have got away with one coast but I did two.

Teal - be still my heart

I am a huge huge teal fan, it's one of my favourite colours and I think it always looks so regal on nails. This is Opi Fly a gorgeous simple to use strong teal cream, the glitter tips and accent finger are Butter London - Henley Regatta. It is my first Butter polish and it applied very well and the look is divine! I do have some tip wear showing but I forgot to wrap my tips in my hurry to get the polish on and it was a couple of days before I got around to photographing the look. It's definitely one I'll wear again,

Above is natural light and below is flash which lightens the colours

Glitter tips

I just love this look! It came from the amazing http://pshiiit.com/ and is a very "me" style. The base coat is Essie Buy Me a Cameo and the sponged glitter tips are Color Club Gingerbread.

Close up below of color club - gingerbread, it's the perfect mix of gold and brown tones.

International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month

This is a cause very close to my heart. While I have seen some beautiful breast cancer manicures this month I haven't yet seen one for International Pregnancy and Infant Loss  Awareness month. So I got out my pink and blue polishes and came up with this in honour of our beautiful daughter Grace.

There are some scars that can’t be seen by the eye

Some wounds that will never heal

Some hurts that time will never mend

And broken hearts with pieces missing that will never be whole again.

October 15th is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness day.

Each year in Australia approximately 58,000 couples
experience reproductive loss: About 55,000 experience early pregnancy loss,
1,750 babies are stillborn
and about 900 babies die in the first twenty-eight days after birth (source SANDS Australia)

I used Opi's breast cancer support polish - I Think in Pink on all fingers but the ring
On the ring I used Opi - Mod about you
The blue details are China Glaze flyin High.

It was fun but also hard as I wanted it to be just right. The hearts are done using a dotting tool and
I finally had success with stripping tape to do the stripes. I free-handed the ribbon, certainly not great but for
my first time trying to free hand a design I was happy enough with it.

New hangbag - new nails

Just in love with my new handbag and think I may have found my favourite nail polish colour!
I simply adore Essie Turquoise and Caicos!

Essie Turquoise and Caicos went on with a very sheer first coat and I was worried it was going to be another Essie 4 coats to achieve the opacity I like. However 2nd coat and it had redeemed itself. I did do 3 coats but probably didn't need to. Below is this gorgeous colour on it's own, but to add a pop I finished with a coat of Deborah Lippman Boom Boom Pow.

Fancy dress - Sorceress Nails

I did this look for a fancy dress party, it is my take on a sorceress.

Index - Orly Liquid Leather and diamantes
Middle - base Essie There's no place like Chrome as a base
Ring finger - Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe
Pinkie -  Essie There's no place like Chrome with black diamantes
Thumb - Orly Tiara

I was really pleased with them and it was fun to do :)

Happy 40th birthday to me!

Loved doing this birthday manicure! The cupcake wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and worked much better than I thought it would. I then decided to add Deborah Lippmann Boom, boom, pow, to the plain nail as if there is ever a time to wear a polish with 24k gold in it surely it has to be your birthday :).

My right hand, I am getting better at applying polish to my right hand but not enough to attempt a cupcake.

Showing a little tip wear a couple of days later.

Base colour - China Glaze re-fresh mint
Stripe - Zoya Zuza
Gold glitter - Deborah Lippmann Boom boom pow
off white - Opi my boyfriends scales walls
